Somebody posting a video on youtube is not meant to ‘prove’ the existence of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). The existence of UFOs is already well documented in the form of high ranking military whistleblower testimony, academics, astronauts, aerospace experts, millions of pages of documents that have been released by multiple governments as well as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, electrooptical data like radar trackings, and more.

Official pictures and videos have also been released, for example, a photo taken by two Royal Canadian Air Force pilots on August 27th, 1956, in McCleod, Alberta, Canada is a great example. (“Physical Evidence Related To UFO Reports” – The Sturrock Panel Report – Electromagnetic Effects) (source) (source)

You can see that picture here.

In this case, the pilots were flying in a formation of four F86 Sabre jet aircraft. One of the pilots described the phenomenon as a “bright light which was sharply defined as disk-shaped,” that looked like “a shiny silver dollar sitting horizontal.” Another pilot managed to photograph the object, as you can see above.

The US Navy has acknowledged footage showing multiple UFOs that was released a couple of years ago by the To The Stars Academy via The Pentagon, they’ve recently confirmed that the videos are indeed real.

Louis Elizondo, a former high ranking Department of Defence official and part of the TTSA academy that released multiple videos of UFOs from the Navy (which the Navy recently confirmed were real) has said that he believes these objects are extraterrestrial, but officially, they’ve purposefully stayed away from this question because a lot of people have “feelings” towards it.

This article is not going to go in-depth into the UFO phenomenon, and the proofs for it. If you’re interested in learning more about it, I suggest you visit the disclosure section of our website, or perhaps begin with the works of world renowned UFO researcher Richard Dolan.

Military encounters with UFOs are quite common and there are thousands of examples. In 1979, or example, F-4 interceptor pilots reported seeing the object visually, it was also tracked on their airborne radar. Both planes experienced critical instrumentation and electronics go offline at a distance of twenty-five miles from the object. Here is an excerpt from the report:

“As the F-4 approached a range of 25 nautical miles it lost all instrumentation and communications. When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4. ”  (source)

Establishment mouthpieces, AKA mainstream media may be trying to take the reality and spin it for their benefit. Perhaps offer a fear based ‘threat’ type of narrative in order to implement more security measures, or to perhaps weaponries space, that remains to be seen. But it seems that they are attempting to at least control the narrative, as they do with all other topics.  At the end of the day, something is going and has been going on for quite some time, this is quite clear.

Whether it be a former Chairman of the Royal Navy telling us that “there is a serious possibility that we are being visited, and have been visited by people from outer space,” a former Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Barry Goldwater telling us that “I do know that whatever the Air Force has on the subject is going to remain highly classified,” or an Apollo 14 astronaut saying that “there have been crashed craft, and bodies recovered,” we have no shortage of high-ranking insiders attesting to the reality that some of these objects may even be extraterrestrial.

There have been some very interesting leaks over the years that suggest the same thing.

General Carlos Cavero told the world in 1979, “everything” has been “in a process of investigation both in the United States and in Spain, as well as the rest of the world.” On a global scale, “the nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon” and there is “an international exchange of data.” (source)

Not only do we have official sources, we have what seems to be hundreds of thousands of people around the world who are capturing UFOs on camera. What they are exactly is unknown. There are numerous instances of this, and one was recently caught by an American Citizen named William Guy, who posted a 31-second video Sept. 28 on YouTube, showing what appears to be 14 glowing orbs over the water. He refers to it as a “real UFO sighting.”

According to the Charlotte Observer

“Guy told the McClatchy news group he’s from Indiana and is among the workers sent to repair damage on Ocracoke Island caused by intense flooding during Hurricane Dorian.

The video was filmed aboard a ferry crossing the Pamlico Sound from Ocracoke Island to Swan Quarter on the mainland, he said. The lights appeared for at least a minute and a half, he posted on YouTube.

Pamlico Sound is not part of the Atlantic Ocean, but a large body of water that separates the Outer Banks from mainland North Carolina.

The incident happened Sept. 18, reports UFOS sighting LPKZ 2019, one of many UFO sites and tabloids covering Guy’s story.”

People seem to be divided as to what these objects actually are. They could be flares? I wanted to use the video to draw attention to the very real and serious issues of the UFO problem. Something we’ve been covering for 10 years. All of our articles on the topic are archived here if you’re looking for more information.

The fact that UFOs are real is a discussion that’s no longer in the taboo realm. Having been a researcher into the phenomenon for quite some time, the idea that some of these objects may be from somewhere else is simply the tip of the ice berg. This type of  information that’s been kept from human consciousness has huge implications and leafs no aspect of humanity untouched, and it’s one of multiple great examples in several different subject areas that have shown just how sheltered we are from what’s really happening on, and off our world.

It is time for the truth to be brought out… Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about the UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense… I urge immediate Congressional action to reduce the dangers from secrecy about Unidentified Flying Objects…” (Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter (First Director, CIA, 1947-1950)(source)

The US Navy Says Sharing UFO Footage & Documents Could ‘Cause Grave Damage To National Security’

There is perhaps no other topic that used to be considered a ‘conspiracy theory’ that’s now taken extremely seriously within the mainstream, like the topic of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), also sometimes referred to Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon (UAP’s). This is in large part due to the fact that official, declassified documents and footage have been released from a number of intelligence agencies and military organizations, on a global scale. Furthermore, all of it’s complimented by statements from high ranking military personnel, ex-astronauts, and many more.

An incident that really blew this subject open in the United States occurred in 2004, where several Navy pilots that were stationed aboard the USS Nimitz encountered a “Tic-Tac-Shaped” UFO. To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science (TTSA) headed by Tom Delonge alongside several ex-high ranking intelligence personnel, like Christopher Mellon who served 30 years in the federal government and was Deputy Assistant Defence Secretary for Intelligence from 1997  to 2002, obtained the video from the United States Navy, which the Navy later verified was real. He has published detailed articles for outlets like The Hill as well as The Washington Post emphasizing the reality and seriousness of this subject. He is one of several to do so

Here’s one of the videos of the object, here’s another, and here’s one more of other instances that they’ve obtained.

The 2004 incident was beamed by the New York times, and high ranking people, like Louis Elizondo who headed a an “Ariel Threat Identification Program” at the Pentagon (he’s also part of the TTSA) stated that he believed these objects are extraterrestrial. He also made the point to emphasize that we should not get caught up in this particular 2004 incident, as there are many. He told VICE that “people should not be surprised by the revelation that other videos exist and at greater length.”

More news has come out regarding the 2004 incident, at it’s in response to a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) that was filed for more video footage and documents regarding the incident. The footage and documents that were released of the incident don’t show the entire video, and don’t make up all of the documents. A spokesperson from the Navy’s Office of Intelligence (ONI) confirmed that the agency possess at least one classified video pertaining to this incident.

According to an ONI  spokesperson, sharing the information with the public “would cause exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States.”

In the 2004 incident, the object in question was performing manoeuvres and flying at speeds that no known air craft on Earth can perform.

Grave Damage To National Security?? Seriously??

One thing that seems to rub me the wrong way about mainstream UFO disclosure is what seems to be a constant ‘threat narrative.’ This is a phenomenon that dates back hundreds, if not thousands of years. Cases have been documented for a very, very long time. If there was some sort of ‘extraterrestrial threat’ or a threat to national security by these objects, wouldn’t some type of ‘event’ have already taken place by now?

Based on my research, and the research of many other UFO researchers around the world, the majority of documented UFO incidents around the world have shown no sign of a threat. Sure, they may be intrusive, but there these objects have not behaved in any way that has been indicative of threat. That being said, this does not mean that footage of these objects performing in a way that represents a threat doesn’t exist, but based on what we have now, 99.99% of these cases, in my opinion, do not display behaviour that is at all indicative of a threat.

In fact, not only do these objects not display characteristics of hostility, they are documented performing predominantly evasive manures, making multiple efforts to avoid our air-craft. For example, Canadian defence minister Paul Hellyer said that these objects commonly take “corrective measures to avoid our aircraft,” and that our military tends to “shoot first and ask questions after.” (source)  Don’t forget four star General Nathan Twinning, who stated in a declassified intelligence document decades ago that,

“The phenomenon is something real and not visionary or fictitious. The reported operating characteristics such as extreme rates of climb, manoeuvrability (particularly in roll), and motion which must be considered evasive when sighted or contacted by friendly air-craft and radar, lend belief to the possibility that some of the objects are controlled either manually, automatically, or remotely.” (source)

With all of this being said, it’s understandable how, from our current level of consciousness that these objects would be seen as a threat, especially from a military and intelligence perspective. For example, when a UFO is tracked on radar, military air-craft are usually sent out to take a closer look. There are many documented cases that show electronic systems within the military jet go down, they don’t work.  For example, here’s an interesting case from Iran via a declassified NSA document:

“As the F-4 approached a range of 25 nautical miles it lost all instrumentation and communications. When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4.”

UFOs in close proximity to nuclear missile facilities have also been associated with the complete shut-down and deactivation of nuclear missiles. So that’s interesting.

The issue is, is the threat narrative being pushed by the mainstream for some sort of ulterior motive, the same way we’ve seen the mainstream push the war on terror ? Are we being lied to again? To be honest, it’s hard to believe anything that comes from mainstream media these days, and many people have lost their trust in these networks. Truth is not synonymous with mainstream media, so what makes the UFO topic any different? Are they trying to control the narrative?

What’s curious to me is why all of a sudden do a select group of people get to publish serious pieces on the subject in mainstream media outlets while a number of ‘credible’ people as well as UFO researchers have been doing this for years, yet continue to go largely ignored by the mainstream media? These are all important questions to ask?

I go deeper in an article I recently published, which you can read below if you’re interested:

Do UFOs Represent Some Sort of Threat? Or Is This Just Government Propaganda?

The Takeaway

This is a subject that’s full of truth, but also full of disinformation. At the end of the day, it’s curious as to why mainstream media has control over the narrative and never addresses incidents and facts that’ve been uncovered by academics and researchers for decades. And why now? This is a topic that truly leaves no aspect of humanity untouched, it has large implications, especially for human consciousness. That being said, we have a lot of work to do down here on planet Earth to get our ‘stuff’ together, but this topic is no doubt always interesting to explore, and can assist one in expanding their consciousness.

The picture above comes from  Carlo Crivelli’s 1486 “The Annunciation with Saint Emidius.”

Today, a process of ‘UFO’ disclosure seems to be unfolding quite fast, and it’s quite clear to a lot of people that “There is a serious possibility that we are being visited and have been visited for many years by people from outer space, from other civilizations,” according to Lord Admiral Hill-Norton, Former Chief of Defence Staff, 5 Star Admiral of the Royal Navy, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

At the end of the day, if you look into the subject and do perform curious research, you’ll find that “There is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us, for a very long time,” according Dr. Brain O’leary, NASA astronaut, Princeton Physics Professor.

Not only do we have statements from high ranking military personnel, astronauts, academics, researchers, whistle-blowers and more, but we have radar trackings, electro-optical data, photographs, pictures in the form of official declassified documentation and more. It’s quite clear that something is going on, but for any UFO researcher who has dived deep into this subject, it also seems quite clear that this phenomenon is not only being documented today, but has been documented for a very long time. And now, for the first time, mainstream coverage and admission of UFOs is happening.

There are many examples of well documented cases, and one great one from the ancient world comes in the form of a 9th  century Latin passage which, a thousand years later, is still inspiring the works of multiple UFO researchers around the globe. Liber contra insulam vulgi opinionem is the name of the document.

“In this document, the Archbishop of Lyons complained about a persistent belief among the French peasantry regarding a “certain region called Magonia from whence come ships in the clouds.” (UFOs for the 21st Century Mind)

How fascinating is that statement? “From whence come ships in the clouds” given the fact that this passage is from the 9th century. Truly amazing to say the least.

“According to the belief, the occupants of these vessels would “carry back to that region those fruits of the earth which are destroyed by hail and tempests: the sailors paying rewards to the storm wizards and themselves  receiving corn and other produce.” The Archbishop even said three men and a woman who had claimed to have “fallen from these same ships” had been stoned to death, an event he personally had witnessed.” (UFOs for the 21st Century Mind)

Another example comes from the 13th century, from England. In the year 1211, Gervase of Tilbury, a chronicler of historical events and strange, unexplainable phenomenon, wrote this:

“There happened in the borough of Cloera, one Sunday, while the people were at Mass, a marvel. In this town is a church dedicated to St. Kinarus. It befell that an anchor was dropped from the sky, with a rope attached to it, and one of the flukes caught in the arch above the Church. door. The people rushed out of the church and saw in the sky a ship with men on board, floating before the anchor cable, and they saw a man leap overboard and jump down to the anchor, as if to release it. He looked as if he were swimming in water. The folk rushed up and tried to seize him; but the Bishop forbade the people to hold the man, for it might kill him, he said. The man was freed, and hurried up to the ship, where the crew cut the rope and the ship sailed out of sight. But the anchor is in the church, and has been there ever since, as a testimony”. (UFOs for the 21st Century Mind)

Another event from antiquity that seems to be popular among UFO researchers comes from Nuremberg, Germany, an event documented in the printing press that took place in 1561. On that day, a number of “cylindrical objects” appeared in the sky. Then, from the objects emerged were small round objects, and disk shaped objects that were red, black orange and blue. Below is an image of the Ariel display that was printed.

Apparently, the objects began interacting with each other, and as reported by the press, began to “fight with one another.” Was this really fighting? Or simply a perceived battle? Who knows. After about an hour of these interactions, the objects apparently began to catch fire, all of them, and fell to the ground where they disintegrated and disappeared.

The point is that there is no shortage of these stories from our past, and the phenomenon is not only being documented today, which seems to become more clear to the masses every single year, but also well documented in antiquity.

If you’re interested in discovering more examples, I highly recommend “Wonders In The Sky” published by Dr. Jacques Vallée and Chris Aubeck.

“Their rigorous scientific insistence allows Vallée and Aubeck to retain the most challenging and interesting aspects of these events without the distraction of premature commitment to any particular interpretation. A willingness to combine documentary research, the heart of humanities scholarship, with physical and astrophysical knowledge is rare.” – Professor David Hufford, Penn State College of Medicine, and Department of Religious Studies, University of Pennsylvania.”

The Takeaway

It’s quite clear that the phenomenon we are dealing with, whatever it may be and whatever it may represent, is nothing new, but actually quite old. It appears that these objects have been around perhaps even longer than we’ve been able to document them.

Who knows what their nature may be, but one thing seems certain, if there were any type of malevolent intent, something of that nature would probably have occurred by now. The phenomenon was a mystery then, and it remains a mystery now, and part of that is due to the mass cover-up of this information. That being said, it’s been studied at the highest levels of government and secrecy for a number of years, what ‘we’ knew in the past most likely does not compare to what ‘we know now, despite the fact that we may still know very little.

The implications of this phenomenon are extremely huge, which is why its disclosure is rolling out slowly, and why we as UFO researchers and a citizenry, we must be cautious of disinformation that plagues the field today.

The CIA Simulated UFO Abductions In Latin America As Psychological Warfare Experiments

Published

on

Throughout history, the field of ufology and the examination of the extraterrestrial hypothesis has, without a doubt, been overcome with a plethora of disinformation. Those who have dived into the depths of ufology know this best, as it’s well documented that ‘outsiders’ from intelligence agencies and governments have infiltrated the field for the purposes of deceiving researchers and people who are interested in the topic for one simple reason, to keep them away from the truth. On top of these disinformation campaigns, which still seem to be in operation today, there has long been an “official campaign of ridicule and secrecy” (Roscoe Hillenkoetter, Ex CIA director)  associated with the subject. This is why I encourage all those reading who dive into this subject to stick with facts, data, and evidence rather than entertain what seem to be outlandish claims that in no way, at all, can be verified.

I’d like to draw your attention to Dr. Jacques Vallee, who holds a master’s degree in astrophysics and a Ph.D. in computer science. The subject of UFOs first attracted his attention as an astronomer in Paris. He subsequently became a close associate of Project Blue Book’s J. Allen Hynek and has written several books on the UFO enigma. He is currently a venture capitalist living in San Francisco. Vallée co-developed the first computerized map of Mars for NASA in 1963. He later worked on the network information center for the ARPANET, a precursor to the modern Internet, as a staff engineer of SRI International’s Augmentation Research Center under Douglas Engelbart.

Valle is one of many who have written about and documented the startling evidence that well-constructed hoaxes and media manipulations have misled UFO researchers, diverting them from the UFO phenomenon itself, what’s really going on.

In one of his latest books, Forbidden Science 4he shares a record of his private study into unexplained phenomena between 1990 and the end of the millennium, during which he was traveling around the global pursuing his professional work as a high-technology investor. It’s a bit of a diary, documenting his experiences and encounters/meetings as he tries to examine and explore the phenomenon.

In an entry dated Thursday 26 March 1992, Valle writes:

“I have secured a document confirming that the CIA simulated UFO abductions in Latin America (Brazil and Argentina) as psychological warfare experiments.”

Reading this line from his book triggered me back to earlier in his book when he mentions one of many conversations he’s had with Ron Blackburn.

On Monday 16 April 1990, he writes:

“Over lunch again with Colonel Ron Blackburn (Air Force) at the Gatehouse in Palo Alto he revealed that the “Secret Onion” group started in 1985 in the classified tank located in his basement at the Lockheed Skunk Works. Colonel John Alexander had brought him a list of the people in the inner circle. They divided the world into layers of concentric trust and ability. John introduced Blackburn to Ed Dames. Blackburn and I have a firmed up our plants to ravel to New Mexico on May 4th, up the high mesa – supposedly to meet some Aliens.”

It’s interesting to note that Colonel John Alexander army writes about Blackburn in his book, “UFOs, myths, conspiracies and realities.”

“Among the people I met was Dr. Ron Blackburn, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel who was then working at the Lockheed Skunk Works in Burbank. It was Blackburn who first asked me if I had ever heard of the infamous Area 51. In the early 1980s, this facility was still not widely known inside the military, let alone the general public, even though it had been functional for decades…Among areas of common interest between Blackburn and me were UFOs. We discussed many possibilities related to who might be in charge of UFO research. We both thought that there was some organization, probably within the U.S. Air Force, which had the responsibility. But we acknowledged that whoever had the ball, there must be an interagency effort as well. Our assumption was that somebody must be in charge, and we were well aware of all the prevailing stories and rumours. Roswell, we assumed, was a real UFO event.”

Fast forward to Friday, May 4th, 1990, Valle writes about Blackburn:

“I’m convinced the government is working on UFOs,” he told me. “What are the chances some witnesses are being fooled by special effects developed by psychological warfare?” I countered. Thinking of cases like Bentwaters in the UK or Cergy-Pontoise in France. “They’re pretty good,” he admitted. “Suppose you shine a week infrared laser into people’s eyes; it won’t hurt them but may induce a hallucinatory state. Experiments have been done where you send a microwave beam through someone’s brain; you pick up the transmitted energy pattern. You can influence people this way, even make them hear things. Holograms have been used too,”

It’s interesting to note the conversation Valle had with Blackburn in 1990, and then in 1992 writes that he had received a document that the CIA had been involved with staging UFO (alien abductions). Combine this information with Blackburn mentioning that holograms have been used, and technology exists to produce “hallucinatory” states.

This is just one of many examples and pieces of evidence many researchers in the field point to suggesting that there are staged abductions happening for reasons unknown, and that it’s continuing today. It’s not surprising either if you’ve ventured down the road of CIA mind controlled tactics, programs like MK ultra and their desire to manipulate the perception of the masses with regards to various topics. It’s not surprising if you’ve looked into the black budget world, a world that’s far more advanced that the mainstream world with regards to technology.

Dr. David Jacobs, a retired university professor, is one of many experts who has hypnotically regressed people who claim to have had ET abduction experiences. After thousands of people, they all share the same story. Many filled with forced impregnation, and ‘hybrid’ children, among other things. Could many of these forced abduction experiments simply be deep black projects that are being conducted by rogue government agencies? Now we know that yes, many of them could be. Are all of them? There are stories floating around out there without much evidence, like the idea that Eisenhower made a deal with certain extraterrestrial groups, that they could abduct a certain amount of humans for the exchange of technology. Based on the idea that that forced abductions may be military operations, this supposed meeting is called into question.

Valle writes of Jacobs in his book:

“I am trying to read Jacob’s Secret Life.’ The author appears obsessed with what he views as a massive Alien invasion, his analysis is no longer balanced.”

This may explain why there is a whole array of people who claim to have had experience with beings from somewhere else, but these experiences did not involve forced abductions, but rather, simple contact experiences. Remember, the key nuance here is we’re talking about human and ET contact, vs forced abductions which are often quite aggressive or terrifying for people.

I’ve written previously about the work of Jacobs, you can read that article here. I’ve been in this field for more than a decade now and the more I learn, the more I have to unlearn and consider other possibilities. I wrote that article being aware that many abduction cases could be military operations, but I did not mention it. I’ve come across the work of many who have interviewed abductees and, from their experiences, there also seems to be a military component as well, or a feeling of military personnel appearing as ‘Aliens.’

How Deep Does The Misinformation Go?

Richard Doty is also mentioned multiple times in Valle’s book. He is a retired Air Force Special investigations officer (AFSIO), and his job was to spread disinformation about the UFO subject during his time with the Air Force. Spreading disinformation about the reality of UFOs is no secret, and in Doty’s case, he admitted to infiltrating UFO circles along with his colleagues to feed urologists and journalists lies and half-truths so that they would never understand any real truth.

So, as you can see, this type of narrative has many interesting sources. You can read more about Doty and watch an interview with him here.

Regardless, There Is Something Going On Here

Valle, and all others in this field are quite aware that something real is going on, and something quite possibility extraterrestrial and inter-dimensional. This article is not meant to shed doubt on the phenomenon itself as well as the extraterrestrial hypothesis. Credible information with regards to sightings, crash retrieval, and possible bodies and contact experiences with ‘aliens’ are out there and can be examined. That being said, there is obviously a lot of disinformation out there as well, ridiculous claims as well as charlatans who are in the field spreading lies and fake stories for the purposes of making money, or perhaps to do what Doty was once tasked with, to spread disinformation, are out there.

With all that being said, the fact remains that:

“There is a serious possibility that we are being visited and have been visited for many years by people from outer space, from other civilizations….This should be the subject of rigorous scientific investigation and not the subject of ‘rubishing’ by tabloid newspapers.” – Lord Admiral Hill-Norton, Former Chief of Defence Staff, 5 Star Admiral of the Royal Navy, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee (source)

At this moment our media is caught up in a maelstrom of rapid fire reports concerning insider whistle-blowers and looming impeachment proceedings. Just a few weeks ago the world wisely turned its attention to the rapid destruction of the Amazonian rainforest and it’s devastating consequences regarding life on this planet. Despite the sudden absence of coverage on this issue since, that problem has yet to be resolved. It is indicative of our nature to focus on what is new and not on what is truly important. Another astoundingly transformative topic made its way into mainstream media earlier this year but is receiving little attention now. After seven decades of relentless denial, the US military publicly acknowledged the existence of UFOs in our skies. When examined contextually, this casual admission may prove to be the biggest story in the history of humankind.

In May of this year (2019) the New York Times and CBS reported that the US Navy recently admitted that their pilots have been observing objects that defy our understanding of how things are supposed to fly. The actual incidents occurred in 2014 and 2015. Another confirmed encounter referenced in the story involved a squadron from the USS Nimitz, which occurred 10 years earlier. This is the “tic tac” sighting, where several pilots observed a small, elliptical “craft” moving in irregular paths at speeds exceeding what was thought possible. Last week, CNN again reports here that the Navy has “confirmed” that their pilots have encountered UFOs. Is that such an earth-shattering admission? They are objects. They fly. They cannot be identified. So what? The real question is, if the Navy doesn’t know what they are, then what are they? We as the public are left to speculate and fantasize as we await the next morsel of information from our trusted government and news sources.

Many people continue to regard this as a curiosity, a preliminary chapter in a story that will end with the admission of a computer glitch, faulty radar system or errant weather balloon. Those who have followed the history of UFO sightings undoubtedly will conclude that this is the first crack in a wall of military secrecy surrounding thousands of separate extraterrestrial spacecraft encounters that have occurred over more than seven decades.

Is Proof Subjective?

The broad chasm between “believers” and “deniers” exists because the standards of proof on each side are not the same. On one extreme are those who require extraterrestrial beings to appear at town hall meetings before reconsidering their position. On the other are those who see a shaky video of amorphous lights appearing in the sky and then immediately conclude that E.T. is here. How then are we to assess the footage taken from the viewfinders of fighter pilots? If any more credence is given to this “evidence” it is only because of the credibility that we choose to bestow upon the source that has offered it. If we were to be purely objective, there isn’t anything more here beyond the stamp of validity of trusted institutions like the US Navy and mainstream media. How then are we to proceed?

In this day and age, any form of recorded visual evidence carries the possibility of misdirection. Even though billions of human beings have smart phones with sophisticated cameras at the ready, we must contend with the reality that photographs and video can easily be enhanced, modified or created from scratch to falsely “prove” that an extraterrestrial presence exists on our planet. If we cannot rely on videos and photographs, where then should we look for “proof”?

Unless one has had a first-hand personal encounter with a being from another star system, the most compelling evidence can only come from the testimony of actual eye-witnesses to UFOs. Could someone else’s personal account offer anything more than a compelling but unsubstantiated story? That is a matter of opinion. On the other hand, eye-witness testimony, though flawed at times, is often offered as the foundation of proof in our legal system today. If witnesses can condemn a suspect of a crime or provide an alibi that leads to their exoneration why wouldn’t we consider testimony with regard to the UFO phenomenon just as seriously?

The Military Has Unofficially Acknowledged UFOs For Years

Dr. Steven Greer is an Emergency Room Physician who has spent over two decades tirelessly compiling and spreading evidence of extraterrestrial contact with humans and the suppression of this information by the media and governmental organizations. His two documentaries, “Unacknowledged” and “Sirius Disclosure,” have been viewed by millions of people around the world. He has briefed members of Congress and former CIA Director James Woolsley, and in 2001 he held a conference at the National Press Club flanked by 20 retired military, FAA and intelligence officers who all publicly attested to the presence of ETs on Earth.

Among the wealth of information he has made publicly available, Dr. Greer offers over six hours of eyewitness testimony on his Disclosure website, all of which is worthy of consideration. If you have ever listened to these interviews, it is difficult to conclude them to be intentionally misleading. The witnesses are mainly ex-military, some of them having held high positions. They have very similar stories with a few key, consistent elements including a typical military deadpan delivery. Many were early in their military careers at the time of their encounter. They witnessed objects moving through the sky soundlessly at unthinkable speed, making manoeuvres that would have crushed their pilots and then abruptly vanish. Often physical evidence of the encounter remained. Their stories are often corroborated by other eyewitnesses and radar technicians. They claim that they were threatened by their superiors if they spoke out, so they waited, for decades in many cases. Now that their military careers are long over, they find it meaningless to keep their vows of silence and wish to live out their remaining years with a clean conscience. There is, of course, the possibility that they are lying, but what would be their motive? They are not gaining fame or fortune for their candor. Most of them are unwilling to state that what they saw was from another planet or star system, they simply know that things just don’t move like that, at least not anything from around here anyway.

How we choose to interpret these accounts, and more recently those of the F-18 pilots in the New York Times and on CNN, depends on your perspective and how flexible you are in your belief system. Here I would like to explore the “middle” ground. If you believe they are telling the truth and you also believe that extraterrestrial craft are an absurd fantasy perpetuated by a pocket of our population that is tired of acceding to Einstein’s special theory of relativity (which dictates that “warp” speeds are a physical impossibility), it can only lead you to the following conclusion: the objects they saw are real and they are from here. In other words, secret military aircraft would explain most, if not all of the incredible stories told by people who seem utterly convinced of their experience and continue to remain undeterred in their account despite continuous attacks from “debunkers” and dismissal from every “real” media source.

In recent years the government of the United States has been spending around $700,000,000,000 per year (source). Every once in a while we all get a glimpse of what some of this money is paying for when never-before-seen, radar-invisible, futuristic looking flying machines capable of classified speeds and unconfirmed altitudes that are made from obscure materials are rolled out of hangars with a modicum of fanfare. It is not unreasonable to assume that “we” have others out there being tested and tweaked. Flight testing is a necessary part of the development cycle of new technology and could explain many UFO sightings. It would also explain why the military has been so conspicuously tight-lipped about the whole thing. Why jump to the fantasy of ancient, interstellar civilizations that have found a way to crack the cosmic speed-limit when everything could be neatly explained by super-classified military flying machines running test flights?

The secret airship theory certainly ties up many of the loose-ends while not forcing us to discredit the earnest testimony of many eye-witnesses of unexplained aerial phenomena from our brothers and sisters in uniform. It does, however, introduce a new wrinkle in our understanding of the current state. If there are secret aircraft, from whom are they being kept a secret?

A Brief History Of Secrecy

We may be quick to conclude that secrecy is a necessary part of modern warfare, and that having weapons technology up our sleeve endows us with a tactical advantage over our adversaries. Upon closer consideration, this military strategy has implications that are potentially very troubling.

To better explain, let us consider the advantage of secret weapons technology historically. In the closing months of WWII it became increasingly apparent that the empire of Japan had little intention of surrendering to the Allied Forces despite their continued heavy losses of life. Emperor Hirohito and propagandists worked the Japanese public into a frenzy through synergistic narratives of nationalism, honour and fear. The introduction of Kamikaze pilots, young warriors of sound mind that were willing to fly their propeller-driven planes directly into American ships, gave the world a startling glimpse into the depth of Japan’s resolve. The United States had something up their sleeve as well.

The possibility of harnessing the power of atomic fission through a chain reaction had been stirring in the minds of theoretical physicists long before the start of the war. The idea of turning this potential force of nature into a weapon came soon afterwards. The Manhattan Project, the secret effort of the US military to build the atomic bomb, did not take place in an isolated desert location called Los Alamos alone. It was an enormous feat of science and engineering that required participation from not only theoretical physicists but engineers, mathematicians, material scientists, construction contractors and labourers. Thousands played a role and their efforts were distributed around the country, from New Mexico to Tennessee. To put it into perspective, the atomic bomb was not constructed only from stuff sitting around. The element Plutonium (used in the Nagasaki bomb) was synthesized by bombarding Uranium with neutron radiation and isolating the products. Prior to the Manhattan Project plutonium was a substance that had not existed beyond extremely trace quantities on our planet.

None of the public and very few of those involved with its production knew what the purpose of all of this activity really was about. Even the Vice President at the time, Harry Truman, was unaware that this effort was taking place. He took the oath of office on April 12, 1945 and was only then briefed about the extent and implications of the Manhattan project. If coordinated correctly, an awful lot of smart people can be kept in the dark about a lot of things, including their own role in a bigger picture.

The decision to deploy the first atomic weapon upon human beings was made behind closed doors. The successful test of an atomic weapon on July 16, 1945 (The Trinity Test) demonstrated undeniably that our species had entered a nuclear age. By most historical accounts, neither the existence of an atomic bomb nor the results of the Trinity test were ever shared with the Japanese government prior to the bombing of Hiroshima just three weeks later. Although it has been reported that a group of leading physicists involved in the development of the weapon formally requested that Truman reconsider his approach, they were not heeded. President Truman made the decision to drop the bomb with no specific warning to the Japanese about its potential for devastation. Ultimately he and his advisers believed that the impact of the bomb would be maximized if it occurred unannounced. Leaflets dropped on the people of Nagasaki several days later did reference the weapon . Because the empire of Japan refused to unconditionally surrender, that city was destroyed with another atomic bomb as well.

Secrecy Is The Real Threat

President Truman’s reasoning has been the subject of much scrutiny and debate. Regardless of one’s critique of his rationale, it is obvious that the use of a weapon as a deterrent is only possible if the enemy is aware that it exists. One can argue that this has been proven as no nuclear weapon has ever been deployed on humans in the 74 years since the destruction of Nagasaki. Indeed, the hegemony nuclear powers exert over the rest of the world only exists because everybody knows who has them and who doesn’t.

What then is the intent of new kinds of weapons and technology that are hidden? Secret weapons cannot be deterrents against aggressive action. Weapons that remain hidden in secrecy are necessarily offensive. Moreover, secret weapons can serve a more diabolical purpose than the damage they inflict. If no one knows their damage signature, range or how they are deployed they can potentially be used to synthesize conflict and implicate innocent parties. How would anyone be certain of the source of the aggression? Secret weapons do not exist to prevent wars, they exist to start them.

The atomic bomb was kept a secret for three weeks. Little else has been offered to the public since. It would be naive to assume that no newsworthy progress has been made with weapons technology beyond supersonic airplanes, miniaturized thermonuclear devices and self-guided drones in the intervening seventy years. If weapons and contrivances of unknown capability are in existence outside of the public eye we must also acknowledge that acts of terror and aggression around the world must carry with it some uncertainty about their origin and intent.

Depending on which sources we trust there have been dozens of staged events portrayed as attacks deserving of retaliation throughout our history, in the United States and around the world. The sinking of the Lusitania, the Gulf of Tonkin events, and Operation Northwoods are just a few of the many actual or planned “false flag” events that our government has admitted were covert operations designed to provoke public outrage and mobilize our war machine. The first resulted in our entry into the first World War, the second resulted in the massive remilitarization of our presence in Vietnam and the third was one of several schemes conceived by JFK’s military advisors to force a US invasion of Cuba using remotely piloted commercial aircraft flown in to American targets. It is likely that those who questioned our government’s depiction of those events at the time felt the same backlash endured by those who continue to exhort others to re-examine the events of 9/11 today.

Three weeks ago we were told by U.S. Secretary of State (and former CIA director) Mike Pompeo that the recent attacks on Saudi oil fields were yet another “act of war” committed by Iran. Tehran continues to vehemently deny his account and insist that it is the work of the Houthis, a Yemeni rebel group. Pompeo characterizes that assertion as “literally nuts” and that an appropriate response would not necessarily be limited to economic sanctions against Iran. Is it possible that neither Iran nor the Houthis were responsible for these attacks?

Whether or not you consider a discussion around UFOs and extraterrestrials to be flippant, the recent attention media has placed on this phenomenon offers an opportunity to consider the depth and implications of secrecy more soberly. Perhaps the US Navy has offered up this footage (15 years after the actual incident in the case of the “tic-tac” sighting) to be forthcoming. Regardless of their intent, it is important to put this admission into context. Have these been the only sightings since 2004? Is it reasonable to assume that this recent disclosure reflects a spirit of transparency or have there been numerous other unacknowledged encounters with UFOs as the “unofficial” testimonies indicate?

If these objects reported by the Navy are not of extraterrestrial origin we must avail ourselves to the reality that weapons and craft of spectacular capability are hidden not just from our “enemies” but from all of us. In either case, it is clear that despite the tepid public reaction to this Navy report, it has offered us a rare glimpse of the depth and breadth of secrecy that has been imposed upon us, if we are willing to pay attention. This wall of secrecy does not merely hide a few irrelevant facts. It may very well be an all-encompassing “distortion field” that has perpetuated a vastly different interpretation of global events while squelching a potential, transcendent truth about our history and our role in a greater cosmic neighbourhood.
